Mailchimp is one of the world’s leading marketing automation platforms. Integrating Mailchimp with Gutena Forms automatically syncs form submissions with your Mailchimp audience lists, enabling seamless email marketing, newsletters, and lead management.

This guide will walk you through connecting your Mailchimp account to Gutena Forms.

Mailchimp is the Pro Feature of the Gutena Forms Plugin. So, you need the Gutena Forms Pro plugin to integrate this.

1. Enable Mailchimp Integration

The Mailchimp integration can be set up in two ways: directly within your form or via Global Settings. Follow the steps below to get started

Method 1: Configure Directly Within Your Form

1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Gutena Forms → Forms and open the form where you want to enable Mailchimp.

2. In the block editor, click on the main Form block. The Form Settings panel will appear in the right sidebar.

3. Scroll down to the Integrations tab and toggle on the Mailchimp integration.

Note: If Mailchimp has already been configured via Global Settings, those settings will be pre-filled in your form. Any changes made here will apply to this form only and will not affect your Global Settings.

Method 2: Configure via Global Settings

1. From your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Gutena Forms → Settings → Integrations.

2. Toggle on the Mailchimp Integration.

3. Once enabled, click the settings icon to enter your Mailchimp API Key and Audience ID to complete the configuration.

Note: If you are configuring the Mailchimp integration for the first time, these settings will apply to all your forms by default.

2. Get the Mailchimp API Key & Audience ID

To connect your account, you will need a Mailchimp API Key & Audience ID. Here’s how you can

1. Log in to your Mailchimp account. Then go to Profile from the top right corner, and click the Profile button.

2. Now, open the Extras tab and select the API keys from the dropdown list.

3. Click on Create A Key, give it a name (e.g., “Gutena Forms API Key”), and then click Generate Key.

4. Finally, your Mailchimp API key is generated. Copy it by clicking the Copy to Clipboard button.

5. To generate an Audience ID, navigate to the Audience tab in the left sidebar.

6. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top-right corner and select Audience settings from the dropdown.

7. Scroll down to the Audience ID section and click the copy icon to copy your unique Audience ID.

Integrate Mailchimp with Gutena Forms

Now that you have your Mailchimp API Key and Audience ID, return to your form in the Mailchimp Settings section under the Integrations tab.

Paste the API Key and Audience ID that you copied from your Mailchimp account into the corresponding fields, then click Save to activate the integration.

Field Mapping

Once the integration is saved, you can map your form fields. In the notification section, there’s an option Reply To Email & Name

  • Email Address: Map this to your form’s Email field.
  • First Name: Map to your form’s First Name field.
  • Last Name: Map to your form’s Last Name field.

Preview of Integrated Mailchimp

Here, you can see a preview of the Mailchimp contacts added through the form entries I set up during the integration.

You can see four form submissions from the Entries section of this particular form.

Now, you can see that users who submitted forms in Gutena Forms are automatically added to the selected Mailchimp Contact.

That’s it! You have successfully integrated Mailchimp with Gutena Forms, and your subscribers will now be automatically added to your Mailchimp audience on every form submission.

Looking to connect more tools? Gutena Forms also supports integrations with Brevo and ActiveCampaign to help you manage your audience across platforms.
