Gutena Forms Update

Gutena Forms v1.6.0 and Pro v1.1.0 Are Live — Faster Field Creation and a New Forms Dashboard

If you build forms regularly in Gutenberg, you know how important speed and clarity are.

Every extra click slows you down. Every unclear workflow breaks focus.

With the release of Gutena Forms Free v1.6.0 and vPro 1.1.0, we focused on fixing exactly that.

This update brings four major improvements that make form building, form management, form reuse, and spam protection more intuitive and more aligned with how WordPress users already work.

Whether you are creating a simple contact form or managing multiple forms across your site, this release helps you work faster with less friction.

Let’s walk through what’s new.

What’s New in Gutena Forms 1.6.0 and Pro 1.1.0

This release introduces four core updates designed to improve user experience from start to finish.

  1. A redesigned UI for adding form fields using individual field blocks
  2. A new Forms tab to manage all your forms from one place
  3. The ability to reuse existing forms anywhere on your site
  4. A Honeypot Field to reduce spam submissions

Both updates focus on reducing complexity and making Gutena Forms feel more natural within the Gutenberg editor.

Update #1: A Faster and More Intuitive Way to Add Form Fields

Introducing Individual Form Field Blocks

One of the biggest improvements in this update is the introduction of individual form field blocks.

Instead of using a single Field Group block and then choosing a field type, Gutena Forms now provides separate blocks for each field type. Each block is purpose-built and pre-configured for its specific use.

For example, you can now directly add a Text Field, Email Field, or Number Field without any extra configuration steps.

Each field block already includes:

  • Its label
  • The input field

All of these components can be customized directly from the block settings.

Important note: These individual field blocks work the same way as the previous Field Group block. The difference is that they are easier to find, add, and work with.

How Field Creation Worked Before

Previously, adding a field in Gutena Forms required an extra step.

Users had to insert a ‘Field Group’ block first and then select the actual field type from the block settings in the right-hand sidebar. While flexible, this workflow added unnecessary setup for something as basic as adding a field.

You had to configure before you could see the field.

You had to think about structure before you thought about content.

For many users, especially beginners, this slowed down the form-creation process.

What’s Changed in This Release

With the inclusion of individual field blocks in Gutena Forms v1.6.0 and Pro v1.1.0, adding fields is now much simpler and more visual.

To add a new field, you can now click the plus icon between two existing fields. From there, click the Browse All button.

On the left-hand side, you’ll see all the available form fields.

Once you see the field you need, simply drag and drop it into place. The field appears instantly inside your form.

You can still customize everything using the right-hand sidebar in Gutenberg. Labels, placeholders, required settings, and other field settings options all work the same way as before.

Update #2: New Forms Tab to Manage All Your Forms

Gutena Forms is built as a Gutenberg form block. Until now, there was no easy way to see how many forms you had created or where they were located across your site.

That changes with this release.

Introducing the Forms Tab

We have added a dedicated Forms tab to the WordPress dashboard for Gutena Forms.

This new screen displays all forms created using Gutena Forms in one centralized location. Each form behaves like a standard WordPress content item.

From the Forms tab, you can:

  • Edit a form
  • Quick edit form details
  • Copy (duplicate) an existing form
  • Move forms to trash
  • Preview forms

If you are familiar with managing posts or pages in WordPress, this interface will feel instantly familiar.

Why This Matters

For sites with multiple forms, visibility is critical.

The new Forms tab makes it easy to track and manage all your forms efficiently and maintain consistency across your site. You no longer need to search through pages or remember where a form was created.

Update #3: Use Your Existing Forms Anywhere

You no longer need to recreate the same form repeatedly. With this update, Gutena Forms lets you reuse any form you’ve already created and place it on any page or post in just a few clicks. This makes it easier to maintain consistency across your site and saves time when working on multiple pages.

How to Add an Existing Form

  1. Open the page or post where you want to add a form
  2. Type /Form or insert the Form block
  3. Scroll down and click Select an existing form →

The selected form appears instantly on the page, ready to use.

Update #4: Honeypot Field for Spam Protection

Spam submissions are frustrating. They waste time, clutter your inbox, and reduce the quality of your form data.

With Gutena Forms v1.6.0 and Pro v1.1.0, we’ve added a Honeypot Field to help prevent spam automatically.

The Honeypot field works silently in the background. It adds a hidden field that real users never see, but bots often try to fill. If that hidden field contains data, the submission is blocked.

No CAPTCHA.

No extra steps for visitors.

No impact on user experience.

How to Enable the Honeypot Field

Enabling the Honeypot feature is simple:

  1. Open the page or post containing your form
  2. Select the Gutena Form block inside the editor
  3. Go to the right-hand sidebar settings
  4. Enable the Honeypot Field option
  5. Finally, set the time limit.

That’s it. Your form is now protected from common bot spam.

This feature is designed to work quietly in the background while keeping your forms clean and secure.

For advanced usage and detailed instructions, refer to the complete Gutena Forms documentation.

Your forms management is now as simple and intuitive as managing any other WordPress content.

Built with User Experience in Mind

All four updates in this release share a single goal.

  • Make form creation faster.
  • Make form management clearer.
  • Make everything feel native to WordPress while keeping your forms secure and spam-free.

By introducing individual field blocks and a centralized Forms dashboard, Gutena Forms now fits more naturally into the WordPress block editor’s workflow. There are fewer steps, fewer interruptions, and a smoother editing experience overall.
